Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How will I know if you are the right fit for me?
As with any new connection, it typically takes some time to develop a secure and trusting relationship with your therapist. I encourage you to reflect on your experience between sessions, and we’ll discuss how you’re feeling as we go. If you decide that I am not the right fit, I am more than happy to provide you with a referral to another therapist.
How often should I have therapy?
I see all of my clients once per week (or more) and I do not offer bi-weekly or monthly psychotherapy. I have found (and research suggests) that weekly psychotherapy is most effective at creating sustainable change in clients’ lives.
Where do sessions take place?
I am available for therapy (including ketamine therapy) via telehealth in New York and Connecticut, and in-person at my office in New Haven County (Branford, CT).
NY License #090555, CT license #13962.
Can I stop if therapy doesn’t feel right for me?
Of course, you are welcome to leave at any time and for any reason. If you’d like to talk about your desire to end therapy, we can absolutely discuss it together.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not take insurance and am an out-of-network provider. If your insurer offers out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible to submit superbills to them for reimbursement.
What are your fees? Do you offer a sliding-scale?
My fee ranges from $150-$300 per 45 minute appointment. Yes, I do offer a limited number of lower fee sliding-scale arrangements - please get in touch with me directly to discuss available options.
Additional fees apply for ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP), extended session lengths, and other services. Get in touch to discuss available options.
What if I’ve gone to therapy before and it didn’t help?
This is so incredibly common - not every therapist or modality will be right for you. I have quite a few tools in my therapy toolbox, and I enjoy working with clients to figure out what works best for them.
What if I’m not part of the LGBTQ community, will you still work with me?
Absolutely. I understand that people of all genders and sexualities can benefit from the skills and life experiences I bring to the therapy room as a queer non-binary trans woman.
Do you work with people who are questioning their identity (gender, sexuality, spirituality, creative, etc.)?
Of course. Therapy can be a great place to explore these parts of yourself. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
